On Interviewing strangers about sex

How do we come to know what we do about sex and pleasure and how do we pass on our knowledge and experience to future generations? Why is pleasure so often a source of shame and fear?

I'm interested in telling the stories of people who have questioned cultural expectations and come away with their own set of rules with the hope that these stories will give others permission to question what we have been taught about our bodies, sex and desire.

Over the next few years, I am producing a series of audio and video documentaries and essays about the pursuit of pleasure, from couples designing alternative relationships to sexuality teachers who are leading workshops in suburban homes across the country, to the parents who are rethinking how they teach their children about pleasure and sexuality.
